Though out the duration of this module I have experimented in process. I'm mainly a hand drawn artist as I enjoy working directly onto stock with different dry mediums but this project has also allowed to explore more avenues and experiment in wet media. Ink is something I've had success with before this project also allowed to to practice my technique in acrylic and and some trial and error I really found my own with it, I discovered a completely new way of working that still rang true with my practice but now allows me to answers a much wider range of briefs is a variety of ways.
I feel like PPP and COP both prepared me for the end of this module setting me up for better branding and creating capabilities, PPP showed me the importance of a brand and what it takes to do it right and this project allowed me to further explore that and really get to the bone of what kind of brand I want to be and how to be it. COP helped me realised that I can create bespoke custom clothing that people actually want to buy which added a lot of confidence too and then this project just allowed me to further improve that skill.
I have discovered from this project that I'm somewhat of a narcissistic illustrator, I much prefer to do my own brand and my own brief that answer someone else's. That's not too say if the right brief comes along I can't tackle it but i'll solely be focusing on briefs that come to me, as in client based work or my own brand. I will still be looking for competitions also but not in the likes of DNAD AND YCA, it will be along a more low-brow scale since I think that's where my practice really shines.
The final thing i've taken away from this project is that I'm a drawer, I enjoy painting and making but my true skill and passion lies in putting pencil to paper and making marks with intent, It's what I'm best at and it's what I enjoy the most. From that skill I can take my work into a digital sphere and just clean it and tweak it slightly so it's ready to be down but at the bottom of it all I'm a hand made creative.

OUIL603 - STUDIO BREIF 2 - COMPS
In the first slideshow has my boards and the second has titles on the final EPS so we know which songs they're related too.
This brief has not been as well documented as the rest on my blog, this is simply because It was finished quickly then pushed aside becauseI I forgot about it. I feel I noted the paintings and why they were imported but Im not sure I made clear that I applied them to secret 7.
Secret7 was the first thing I did for this module as it was free easy and allowed me the freedom to play which in turn is where this new process of working arose from, so with out this brief I wouldn't of found a completely new and enjoyable way of working. One having the images I decided that for the final mock ups it would be a good idea to add them to a cover sleeve just too see if they worked, some worked a lot better than others but as a set and as singles I think they're all strong piece. I enjoy the use of negative space with these painting I think it makes them appear much more delicate that forces someone to look closer and more carefully at them only to discover that the images themselves all though carefully crafted and naive in application or neither in there nature and are of quite dark and sometimes evil imagery

Z10
This is my final zine and by far the best executed. Like a few before it I decided to just put interesting characters or 'fiends' in the zine instead of the full sketchbook pages, and I completely changed the front cover.
It's now printed on card and added to the zine at the end. It gives it a much more refined feel, and the whole cover art and contact information is much more dynamic and all around a better design. It's more interesting to look at, more captivating and adds a lot more value to the zine. Making and audience want to pick it up and ultimately purchase it.

LABELs
This is the journey my labels have taken, all in one post to save space. They would be attached with string to my merchandise (t-shirts, jumpers, jackets) they started off on paper but I instantly realized it wasn't a strong enough material and switched to a thicker card. I believe doing it adds more value to the brand, it's not something someone will purchase but it gives a lot more weight to the product and therefore the brand image.
At first i started with a ultra vibrant and colourful label but i quickly changed that, thinking it was too garish and in you face, and the design gets a little lost. A lot for my work is garish and in your face but the work speaks for itself in that respect I think adding it onto the label is just a little bit try hard, and a stark black and white label stands out more clearly.

POSTAGE POWERPACK
I printed my montage design onto different size envelopes, Its just adding more to my brand image. I think it's important to have as much branded as I could, these will be used for posting out zines; booklets and sticker packs to people, that was as soon as it arrives they know it's from GRIMGUTS and it's just a lot more interesting that a normal letter. I printed them a few times to get the size right, at first I thought the better the better but smaller looks more concentrated and it leaves room to add peoples postage address' and stamps.

MADE SOME STICKER PACKS
It would of been easy to just throw these in a bag and leave it at that but I think when receiving something like this it should be an experience almost. The stickers should come in a branded envelope and then in a branded packet.
I feel it makes my work look much more professional and makes my brand not only look like the real deal but it allows people to be more invested in my brand, it looks more like a brand who cares about who buys from it. In doing so prompting customers to buy more from me.
The envelopes are also sealed with card which just makes the product feel more robust.

I orniganlly did the montage image to put onto envelopes and also it's a summary of GRIMGUTS so far, you get everything you need to know from that image. I had to switch it up slightly however. Since im in the process of making sticker packs the card will be folded over to half of it has to be upside down so when it's folded it becomes the right way round, it's only a little thing but it needs to be considered.

Im putting together some sticker packs for the branding part of my brief since from my research I saw sticketrs and sold by a loit of skate brands, its a great way to advertise and it's also something that is within my reach to fully create myself from scratch.
I'm using my new logo i've designed as well as some of my favourite stand alone images i've made so far, ones that I think cover GRIMGUTS and PLAYNICE well as a whole.

NEW LOGO
There wasn't really anything wrong with my old logo on my business cards but since I've created a lot of new work recently and just felt like I wanted a little revamp, I made it much more quirky as opposed to the more robust logo I had earlier and employed two of the big sheets I've been doing into the text. Did a black and white image and a coloured one depending on what I would be using them for.

BEER CANS
Now the second image I actually really liked, it looks very crisp and refreshing it brands your eye and all of it flows well together however the motif monster I used I've already used on another brief for a skateboard mock up, it's not too much of a problem but I wanted to do something different.
Now the 3rd and final is or original image with the same colour scheme as the second but with a darker background to give to product itself more pop on the page. I actually prefer the second cans monster design but I wanted something more original than something I've already used.
BAD TIMES INTO BETTER TIMES
I mocked a skateboard up with some spaghetti but I think it works as a funny gimmick. it looks a bit like guts and gore but it remains good viewing for everyone but it took sometime to get right. The top image is just off. It's just dull looking, the actual skateboard mock up looks like and all condensed, there's too much going on too close together, the colours don't work with each other or the background, all together its a mess that doesn't work and isn't dynamic.
The image below the actual skateboard looks a lot smoother and cleaner, a more refined image with less going on which gives more punch to the chosen design, the background has then been coloured based around the board design to the whole sale display looks more engaging and easier on the eyes.
QUICK STORE MOCKS
I took some designs I've previously posted and put them up in two different retail stores, The first is a skate shop interoor which I think is made much more interesting with a 12 foot monster looking over the shoppers, I think something like this just makes the whole experience more engrossing.
The second is more closed based store with white walls, I think the contrast of the white to the red of the monsters is something interesting, also these monsters let shoppers know what kind of clothes they'll be looking at before they even look at them. If there's a huge buff monster on the wall its doubtful you'll be buying primark brand t-shirts.
PLAYNICE POSTER?
I did these little monsters just for fun but they went down really well in the studio and on instagram so by popular demand it just seemed stupid not to make a poster out of them if they went down so well. The important part from this isn't really the design or why I drew its more than I've noticed my audience and potential audience engaging in a design and I built on it.

THE BARON -DOUBLE PROOF IPA
Double proof meaning it would be a very high percentage drink I put a foreboding and dark can with a a demon riding a motorbike, I stuck with red and black and orange to represent fire and brimstone and really push this as an intimidating drink that wouldn't be for the feint hearted
ZOMBIE - CHOCOLATE STOUT
I went with a dark brown colour since the alcohol inside the can is a stout which means it's a dark ale but since it's a chocolate stout something that would be more sweet and interesting flavour I adding a lighter purple with a crazy coloured zombie head to keep it a more fun loving, easy going drink, well in comparison to THE BARON counterpart
