Boston Manor Extras

I did a few more designs for Boston Manor in a mock up form, Just to extend the breif and have a bit more fun with it. It almost looks like a catalogue of their merch now, maybe? An that's kinda good.

This was the final mock up I did for them. Notice the circle is jagged now not clean and the big font on the bottom (Which I think looks stupid)

UPDATE: Convinced them not to have the logo on the bottom (WIN)

We're all happy with how this turned out, they liked it. I sorted them out with this design. Like I said I know them so I didn't charge. They're my friends. It all works out really, They'll give me a tshirt and they're getting a following so I might get more work from it and I get into their shows V.I.P for free So it's all swings and roundabouts.

Henry quickly asked me to do an all caps logo for them based off this design on another bands. It took me 5 minutes If that.

One I know what I'm doing I can knock things together pretty quickly.  So I emailed the final draft to Henry before I mock it all up for him and make it t-shirt ready.
UPDATE: Henry rang me saying that they're doing two colours now so can I work that into it somewhere and then he sent me this:

After I pointed out that that font as terrible and that is in fact 3 colours not two. He wanted to keep the red put I pointed out the red rose heads with with stems would look odd, and not right but i'll sort something out for him.

On webcam to Henry showed him this. His response. 'YE MAN! That's so sick, I'd have that on my wall like - but I don't think it's right for the band' ..... Brilliant. Luckily I saw this coming after the numerous times and decided I'd show him a few more things I'd been drawing.

Showed him this awful drawing of a snake and roses and that was it. Decided. They all decided there and then, that was what they wanted so atleast now I know what I'm doing.

Since the bands always on tour, Waiting for responses can be a lil while to taking forever but I'm cool with that. Accept when the band can't agree on a design and Henry says 'Ye, we're not sure man. We're really into whales at the moment'

So It looks like I'm drawing a whale, not a problem but if i'd of known this in the first place. The shirts could probably be printed by now...

I did what Henry asked, Did a few quick drawings, In all black since they only wanted 1 colour. An I sent them across to Henry too choose one then I'd do a final version of it for him....It was never going to be that easy.

I got a reply saying he loved all of them and so did the rest of the band but it wasn't really what they had in mind. An upon asking what they did have In mind the response was 'I dunno man, Just like the stuff that you do'

Boston Manor

Boston Manor are a band from my home town, they're doing the rounds and picking up quite a bit of a following and an interest at the moment. Henry Cox, the lead singer got in touch with me and asked if I could design them a t-shirt. I said sure.

I know Henry pretty well, so I already knew my client and I wasn't about to go all corporate on him with what I charge and how I work, I just asked what he wanted and he said 'Anything man, Just do whatever' Which was awesome. I got right to work.
