One colour seems to be the way to go, Even though it's not black I think one colour helps to carry the whole piece, and helps very think work very well together. Even though in this my red did run out so I had to switch to a shade of orange but it's not really noticeable. Even though these may all look very similar I think each one is much stronger than the one before it. They are starting to become very organic and almost flowing; the composition and motifs use carry well. The use of words has always been heavy in my practice and i've started to fall out of it so I'd like to add more to these bigger pieces, I think words and phrases are much more character to things and by making people read things It gives more of in insight into the work and makes the audience engage with it more.
ALSO
Screenprinting isn't happening. I've left this project fairly late. Time management isn't my best asset and i've been putting off screen-print and i've been telling myself i've had other things to focus on which isn't a lie but I just think it's because I'm not interested in screen-print. I do enjoy it as a process but I told myself to do it for this project because I thought it was the best way to get to an end point but now I'm much more interested in mark making and with these pieces they become finished pieces themselves with the time and effort but into them and i'd like to do these to the best I can and focus on what I like as opposed to giving 50% to the drawing and 50% to screen print, i'd rather give 100% to the artwork.
